Digital Signature For Financials (DiSiFi) Challenge  

In the ever-evolving digital landscape, ensuring the authenticity and integrity of transactions is crucial. The Central Bank of Jordan has a strong PKI infrastructure, yet the full potential of digital signatures remains underutilized. 

The call for applications for this one-of-a-kind challenge is now open. Participants are invited to present cutting-edge digital signature solutions that integrate seamlessly with the Central Bank of Jordan's PKI. This challenge aims to tackle issues of awareness, Integration, regulatory compliance, security, and user experience, driving the modernization of Jordan’s financial sector.

Eligibility Criteria

Are you eligible to participate? You are if you fit the following criteria:

The participant must be an established company based and registered in Jordan – the company should not be a reseller or a solution distributor (Made by and in Jordan).

Companies not registered in Jordan, but one of the founders is Jordanian can apply, conditioned by registering the company in Jordan within 60 days from the winner’s announcement day.

Jordanian startups with a working product conditioned by registering the company in Jordan within 60 days from the winner’s announcement day.

Teams should be able to implement technological solutions.

The Winner(s) is required to implement the PoC within 60 calendar days from selection day.

All qualified solutions will go through the functional evaluation and security evaluation, in addition to source code review.

Technical Specifications 

 Supports signing of financial data in various formats, including PDF (PAdES), JSON (JAdES), and XML (XAdES).

CMS (CAdES) support is optional. 

Provides a comprehensive solution for creating and validating digital signatures.

 Capable of signing at different levels, including B, B-T, LT, and LTA.

Handles both single and multiple

signatures (parallel and sequential). 

 Integrates with external Hardware Security Modules (HSMs) such as PKCS#11.  And the ability to generate a pair of keys and store them securely.

The solution should be API-enabled and independent of the adopting entity’s business logic layer. 

 Provides an option for public verification through a central node (e.g., JoPACC). 

 Enables banks to perform local verification with the solution installed on-site. 

DiSiFi Challenge Timeline

This challenge will go through multiple phases in which participants will Develop, Test, and Demonstrate their financial digital signature solutions. The phases are as follows:
